She also doesn't seem support of Bridgette's apparent crush on Geoff, wondering why Bridgette would be interested in a person like him.Ĭourtney also harbors a great dislike for Harold and doesn't seem to consider him a strong competitor compared to others, even though he helped their team win twice. Her teammate Bridgette is the closest person she has to a friend, though Courtney often berates her for her clumsiness, which almost costs them challenges, including the time she broke her violin in Not Quite Famous and burned down their tent down in The Sucky Outdoors. In the end, she narrowly escapes the first elimination by sheer luck, as Ezekiel carelessly makes some sexist comments about women, saving her from elimination.ĭespite her rough start, Courtney proves to be quite talented on the violin.įrom this point on, Courtney mostly takes the leadership role for the Killer Bass, often bringing up her past experience as a Counselor-in-Training (C.I.T.), though her team rarely listens to her due to her bossy nature. Her attempts to promote her valuable leadership skills are mostly in vain. After her team loses, she is considered for elimination for not participating in the cliff-jumping challenge. Her team's poor performance also leads her to take charge, and her bossy nature only fuels her team's dislike of her. Throughout the challenge, she is plagued by bad luck: she gets a splinter from the wooden crate and a swollen eye from a bee sting allergy. However, she leaves a bad impression on her team in the first challenge after refusing to jump off the 1,000-foot cliff into shark-infested waters, leaving her devastated. Her unscrupulous priorities coupled with her harsh tendencies have resulted in her becoming a very disliked contestant among her fellow competitors as well as someone that is not truly friendly with anyone.Ĭourtney takes charge of the Killer Bass, which quickly earns her a negative reputation with the team.Īt first, Courtney seems quite friendly, greeting and comforting several of the other campers. She has displayed in several instances that she values the prize money over even her closest relationships and even capable of risking people’s lives to get on her goal. Courtney has exceptional athletic abilities and is also capable of lifting amounts of weight much greater than her own. However, sometimes her determination ultimately leads to her own destruction. When she wants something, she will fight to the death to get it, with no regard for the safety of others, going as far to leave people in danger, hence losing her former friendly and civil nature. However, throughout her four competing seasons, the severity of Courtney's behavior becomes extremely antagonistic. She has become notorious among the contestants for constantly reminding them of her counselor-in-training experience, resulting in their constant annoyance. As an overachiever, she has a tendency to overreact when things go wrong, and drives herself crazy in order to get what she wants. Such examples are in Phobia Factor where Courtney scolds her team for mocking Tyler's fear, Basic Straining, where she stands up for Harold against Duncan and Geoff or in Jamaica Me Sweat, when she is the only one to acknowledge the injured Izzy and Owen. Although she is extremely bossy, competitive, critical and even manipulative at times, she can be civil and polite to her fellow competitors under specific circumstances and in the beginning of the series. Courtney has a polarizing personality, but at her core, she thinks of herself as a born leader, which often leads to her not letting others have a chance to take control.
